Stan from Dublin ,GA has been raised on southern gospel music. With both parents being from
singing families, Stan continues to carry on the tradition. For the past twelve years, Stan has been baritone singer and
manager for PROMISE QT. of Dublin , (a local group with a loyal following.) He has also sung with his wife and son on
several occasions. After the group PROMISE QT. disbanded, Stan continued singing in solo ministry and seeking, most
importantly, GOD'S will and direction. He is now excited to be joining Common Garments quartet. Such an opportunity is
something that he has looked forward to for many years.
Stan is married to Shannon and they have three children John Paul, Chris Anne, and Stanley Chris. The Sheppards attend church at Dublin First Church Of The Nazarene where Stan is a member of the choir, plays tuba in the church orchestra and perform in a church trio. The previous year brought many changes to the Sheppard household. The disbanding of his group coincided with the pre-mature birth of his second son. During this time of uncertainty, Stan said that he once again found God's promises to hold true. He too believes that in acknowledging God in all things, God is faithful to work only good for his people. Having followed many southern gospel quartets, some of his favorites were PERFECT HEART, CATHEDRALS, ANCHORMEN,KINGDOM HEIRS, and the KINGSMEN just to name a few.
Nothing gets Stan more excited than tight harmony and smooth blends, that is unless it is the sounds of nature. An avid hunter, when Stan is not singing he is in the woods. His wife says that if it has fins, feather or fur it is fair game at the Sheppard house. Oh, and did we mention gators? Whether in the woods or on the stage, Stan strives to put God first and is always seeking the Lord's will. After a season of prayer, and allowing the spirit to lead him, Stan feels that it is the hand of God that has led him to Common Garments Quartet.
